I am less focused and more flipped out than Monday!!! Why, you ask? Well, I just found out we are making an unplanned trip to Illinois in a little over a week!
Good news.....I get to see all my family:))) Happy, happy!
Bad news......I feel like my summer is gone, I am freaking out because I have a list a million miles long and can't seem to finish anything.....just feel like a hamster on a wheel.....going no where!!!
So, in honor of my spazzing out, I am linking up with 2 wonderful bloggers, my buds Elizabeth from Fun in Room 4B and Kristen from Ladybug's Teacher Files for their Optimum Organization Linky in hopes that it will calm and focus me........
So, my organizing idea today isn't originally mine. It all started with the lovely Teri at A Cupcake for the Teacher. Before the school year started last year, I was clueless (not sure why) about using numbers in the classroom. Clueless I tell ya....then Teri linked up some adorable "number" things on my Monday Made It linky and then I emailed her and asked a million questions and she talked me through how wonderful having a number system in your classroom is.
I am sure most of you already do this, so humor me and pretend I'm sharing something wonderfully new:) Anywhosie, you can see a couple of her posts HERE and HERE and HERE.
So last year I started the number thing. I made these from Teri:
I did this a lot!!! But, unfortunately, that was just about where it stopped....I numbered my kids, and then I got 8 news ones all at once and it flipped me out and I wasn't as good as I could have been with using the numbers...like on their papers, nametags......
So this year I am going to be better about it. I am going to use numbers with my File It For Friday system.
I am also using numbers with my new Homework Club (thank you Molly from Lessons with Laughter)
I had to make new "pick me" numbers in my new colors:) They are actually the same ones I use for my Homework club, I just printed another set:) 2 things in one:)
I'm hopeful that using the numbers this year and doing a better job at it will help with organization and make my little ole teacher life a little easier:) Since I am like the last one to this party, would love it if you have other ideas using student numbers:) Leave them in the comments:))
